Unit develops GIS modules for several applications that
are varied in nature and content. Landsat, IRS and SPOT
data interpretation and modeling are some the unit's
services. Global Positioning System (GPS) is adopted for
conducting precision survey of utilities and Markets.
The Unit's laboratory is equipped with advanced systems
from ESRI and ERDAS for GIS and Image Processing, and HP
and canon for map digitization and production. Facilities
also include Resource Data Bank, EIA Models and Visual
Interpretation tools.
